WHAT ARE FRIDAYS GOOD FOR?

“Mr
Galac, this afternoon was much more interesting than the usual
Friday nights in the Club” - said on of the Moonlight kids after
the friendly table tennis and five-man football matches were
over. “You are right, my son - I answered, - but if there
weren’t for the Friday club nights, you wouldn’t have played so
well today.” Such games where they can play in public are
important events and enormous challenges for children. This year
the International Challenge Day was organized by the Moonlight
Club of our school (the Kizúr István Primary School) by the Head
Teacher, Vesna Duliĉ. All other Moonlight Clubs of Subotica, as
well as 50 students from the Teacher Training Faculty
participated, despite the last-minute rush of the school-year
end, and the exam season.
It is well-known that Challenge Day is an international event
involving sport competitions between communities where
participants usually turn out in large numbers. The motto of the
event is “15 minutes of physical exercise for health”. We have
considerably exceeded this time limit, since our town this year
had two opponents, Kujawsko-Pomorskie (a region of Poland), and
the Island of Guam, so we performed the healthy physical
exercise in the framework of friendly matches from 3 p.m. till
7.30 p.m. The games were completed with lavish snacks (provided
by the school and by the Fornetti Factory of Subotica), the
distribution of commemorative certificates and high spirits.
Table tennis matches were umpired by Ferenc Galac, while
football matches by gym teacher Zsolt Csizmadia.
We are looking forward to the announcement of the results of
competitions between towns.
See you all next year at the same time, on the last Wednesday of
the month.
Ferenc Galac,
Club Coordinator
