SPRINGTIME
FESTIVALS WITH A CHAMPIONSHIP
18.APRIL
2008.
Photogallery
During
April and the beginning of May several nationalities living in
this region welcome the return of spring with traditional
springtime festivals. The Spring Moonlight Championship aspired
to manifest the peaceful coexistence and mutual acceptance of
these nationalities – in other words TOLERANCE. It was organized
in Moonlight Club 5 operating in the Jovan Mikić Primary School
of Subotica on 4 April 2008. The entire club, as well as the
head teacher of the school Etuska Juhász, and many parents and
staff members of the school warmly welcomed the swarming group
of guests adding up to about 130, including the competitors from
all six clubs, as well as the parents and adult supporters.
This was the
first time that the “Mikić” Club had the chance to prove that
they are just as good organizers and hosts as the other
Moonlight Clubs. I believe we succeeded in proving it. Everyone
had a great time. All the children and young people present,
coming both from the town and the country, were talking to each
other in different languages, making friends, cheering for the
players and gave ovations to the winners of diplomas, awards and
tombola prizes. The adults were no less happy than the kids. We
know the friendships here are made between opponents, and
therefore their value is priceless.
We are
looking forward to organizing this wonderful event the same time
next year.

Every Friday
about 50 children come together here to make friends and do
sports. Apart from table tennis, darts and table football
championships we sometimes organize competitions in other skills
too.
Such was for
example the competition in essay writing for the girls about the
topic Moonlight Club 5. The boys were the panel of experts, and
they decided with a vote which essay would be the best. The
essay below won with overwhelming majority: this piece of
writing captured best the working of the club and the good
relations between the members. That is why we are publishing it
here.
MOONLIGHT 5
Every Friday
we come together in the hall of the school for the Moonlight to
make friends and have fun.
Meeting
friends and having a good time is our primary goal. Each Friday
the Club has more and more members. At the Moonlight we play
table tennis, darts and table football. For snack we have
Fornetti cakes and sandwiches. When we attend championships we
are very successful and strong compared to other teams. When we
compete, we always try to show the strong points of our club. If
we still sometimes lose, next time we fight with even bigger
enthusiasm and motivation. At the Moonlight the boys are real
gentlemen. They help us learn to play table tennis, darts and
foosball, or they help in improving our skills even more.
We love
coming to the Moonlight, because it fills our heart with joy and
gladness
Every
competition has winners, but in this particular one the winner
is friendship itself. That is why we are not indicating the
author's name. The original essay, which is kept in the archive
of the club, is decorated with small hearts, representing the
love for the club.
With this
introduction we wish to invite you who read our website to join
us at a Moonlight evening and rejoice together with us.
