THE
FIRST ANNIVERSARY
17
October, 2006
As
a result of social cooperation the first Moonlight Club was opened
one year ago, on 30 September, 2005, in the Technical Secondary
School of Subotica. In the framework of the Open School
programme the school opened its gates for the youth to enable them
to spend one evening at weekends in a civilized environment and free
of charge playing sports like table tennis, foosball (table
football) and other forms of recreation.
A
little anxious at that time, but very determinedly we launched the
Moonlight Programme. It was worthwhile. The best proof is the first
anniversary, the 3 Moonlight Clubs (2 in Subotica, 1 in Bająa) that
are already operating, and the past one year itself, which was full
of interesting and valuable events. We could not have achieved all
this without the support of numerous altruist and philanthropic
people and organizations. The celebration organized on the occasion
of the first anniversary of the “moonlighters” on 30
September, 2006 was a way of thanking our helpers and supporters,
too.
In
the framework of the festive programmes the exhibition of painter
Ivan ©arčević was opened by teacher and art historian Vidosava
Nedeljković. After the official opening and the reception of the
guests the table tennis championship began, officially started by
Andrija Romić, member of the Council of the Local Government, and
at which 36 competitors took part from all three Moonlight Clubs.
The championship was supervised by the trainer of our club, Josip ©ebeąćen,
and the umpires were Ferenc Galac teacher and Árpád Német table
tennis player.
