WE ARE BEGINNERS, BUT ENTHUSIASTIC ONES

Moonlight Club 5 has been open in the two newly developed atriums of the Jovan Mikić Primary School in Subotica for almost 3 months. The Moonlight Programme is realized in this beautiful environment, with the support of the head teacher, Etuska Juhász and the teaching staff of the school.

On Friday evenings 36 youngsters of various age and nationality play table tennis, table football and darts here.

Apart from the usual evening programmes we try to join in the common campaigns and collective actions of Moonlight Clubs.

In the building of the Majšanski Put Primary School – in cooperation with the students of the Teacher Training Faculty – we participated in the Challenge Day sports event together with the other “moonlighters”.

We were also there in Bajša at the open table tennis competition organized on the occasion of the Village Day of the Municipality of Bajša.

We participated in the open competition organized in the framework of the School Day celebration of the Kizúr Ištvan Primary School too, moving an enormous number of children. All Moonlight Clubs took part in the competition, but there were also many visitors from the professional clubs of  Subotica.

On the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, 26 May, we gave a live demonstration on the main square of Subotica on how a Moonlight Club operates, and how our programme helps youth adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

We are especially pleased that our Club is visited by the students of the Teacher Training Faculty.

Even this short account shows how from the start we have aspired to contribute to the expansion of the Moonlight Programme. In the future we are also planning to work on the broadening and enrichment of our own Club’s programme. We are planning to occasionally involve some of the other study circles of the school in our Friday evening programmes.
